FireWire 400 Active Extension Cable - FireWire 400 Repeater Cable
The IEEE 1394 specification limits a single FireWire cable to 16 feet (5
meters), but you need to connect your FireWire cable peripherals over a longer
distance. No problem.
With this FireWire 400 IEEE-1394a active extension cable, you can now extend your
current cable another 5 meters! Ideal for any situation where your FireWire
device needs to be placed some distance from your computer.
Works like any other extension cable: just plug the cable into the 6 pin FireWire port on your computer or hub and plug the
FireWire device into the other end.
This IEEE 1394 Active Extension Cable is compatible with 1394-1994 standards and
is fully interoperable with the FireWire implementation of the standard. Data
transfer rates of up to 400Mbps are supported and you can use up to 10 active extension cables to extend the distance of your cable up to an additional
50 meters (160 feet)!
