Perfect solution for attaching large number of external hard drives to a
computer! Connect up to 5 external eSATA hard drives via one eSATA port. Provides a high performance connection between a
SATA II port on the computer and five SATA device ports. Takes full advantage of
SATA II 3 Gbps bandwidth and FIS-based switching host controllers. Supports all the
SATA Port Multiplier related SATA II extensions.
The 5 external hard drives can be configured as RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 or combined as 1 large volume or to appear as 5 individual drives to the system. When used in conjunction with
a 4-port eSATA controller, a whooping 20 hard drives can be attached to a
computer (using 4 of the hubs).
Hot swap capability allows external hard drives to be conveniently connected or removed from the computer on the fly while the system continues operating.
